Frequently Asked Questions.

Q: If I have previous cosmetic tattoos, will I be a viable coverup candidate?

A: Email a bright, clear, no makeup photos of previous work will be required before committing a service appointment.

Q: What can restrict me from permanent make up services?

A: Being pregnant or nursing will restrict you from receiving services. Our artist scheduling will be ideal for planning around unexpected or expected life events. Please give our office a call for further details.

Q: What age qualifies me for microblading services?

A: The age of 18 years old.

Q: What is microblading?

A: Microblading, also known as semi-permanent makeup or micro pigmentation, is the process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin to produce the appearance of hair strokes.

Q: How long does microblading last?

A: It depends on the individual's skin, activities, etc. Generally microbladed brows last for two years but often clients come in to be touched up as soon as one year.

Q: Does the microblading process hurt?

A: We will numb your brow area before we begin. You may experience slight discomfort during the first pass but we will numb your brow area once again when the skin is open. You will not feel much afterwards.

Q: How long will my brows take to heal?

A: The initial healing period is two weeks. The complete healing process takes between 6-8 weeks. It should not be a problem going to work or doing daily activities immediately after as long as you are following the after care instructions.

Q: Why did my brows disappear after my initial appointment?

A: During the initial healing process, your skin will begin to flake. Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.

Q: How long is the appointment?

A: Please allow at least two hours for your initial appointment to ensure set up and critiquing symmetry.

Q: What happens after?

A: Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color and more sharply defined. This can past up to a week after treatment while the initial healing process takes place.

Q: Will my skin be red or swollen?

A: Swelling and redness is minimal with most clients, and will dissipate within 24-48 hours.

Q: Why do I need a follow up appointment?

A: The complete healing process takes 4-8 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and it is only after 6 weeks that your touch-up/adjustments can be done.
